Excel Program

The Excel program is for the players that want to learn proper techniques and reach their full soccer potential. The excel program has 2 training session per week with professional, licensed coaches. The program consist of a pool of players that are divided on site into group of 10 of do fun soccer related activities that will teach them the game. These players will get the foundation to become Cyclones (our competitive teams), Middle School or High School players. They play games on Saturday. Again they are divided on site into teams and scrimmage for the entire hour. There are no tryouts for this program.

Within the Excel program we will be selecting the top 10 to 12 players from U8 and U10 for Excel Elite. For Excel Elite we are looking for the players that show potential to take their game to the next level. These players will train with our Academy Director, Coach Mike during the excel training times. Once selected to Excel Elite, these players must show determination, focus and coachability to remain in the Elite program. There is no extra cost for Excel Elite.

About Coach Mike Carmean

Coach Mike will be the CCSA Academy Director for the 2019-20 season, working primarily with CCSA U8 to U10 player.

Holds a USSF National B License, a USSF National Youth License, The NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, The NSCAA National Youth Diploma, a NSCAA State Goalkeeper Diploma and a Coerver Coaching Certificate.

Over 15 years as Alabama Olympic Development Program (ODP) Staff Coach and is currently active with the Georgia Olympic Development Program (ODP).

Director of Coaching and Player Development for River City Soccer club in Phenix City Alabama winning State Cup championship as Head Coach in 2010 with U12 boys and State Cup runner up 2009 with U11 Boys. Created the Red Star Soccer Academy and was one founders for the CFC Red Star Soccer Club.

Over his 25 year Coaching Career, Coach Mike has placed over 100 signed players for college scholarship. He developed 2 players that went on to be professionals: one MLS (New England Revolution), one WPS (Atlanta Beat).
